Like Unto a Hid Treasure

"...the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field" (Matthew 13:44). Beloved, the only way we can enter into the kingdom of God is to view it as a precious hidden treasure; something so precious that we will want to sacrifice our all for it.

Like the man in this parable of Christ, we must be willing to give up our all to possess God's eternal kingdom. Any negative or sinful behaviour that we have come to cherish must be sacrificed for the sake of this kingdom. Our means and time must be used to further the cause of this kingdom. Our hearts and bodies must be fully consecrated to the Lord of this kingdom. There is nothing on this earth that we can compare to the eternal kingdom that God has prepared for those who love Him.

Concerning this treasure of great worth, the apostle Paul encouraged the believers in Corinth with these beautiful words: "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him" (1 Corinthians 2:9). Beloved, are you willing to give up your all so you can obtain God's eternal kingdom? It is important to remember that the Lord is coming back for His saints who have made a covenant with Him by sacrifice (Psalm 50:5). May the Lord strengthen you to be able to commit to Him 100%.
