GIVING UP ON THE PAST

Holding on to the past is like holding on to hot coals, you cannot maintain a steady hand. The shape of your future will keep being in the balance as long as you hold on to the past. Don't be a prisoner of the past or allow it to take you captive. Even a donkey tied to a post tries to break free. Break free from your past mistakes and failures and walk into your future.

No matter how much you revisit the past there is nothing new there to see. One thing you can learn from farmlands is that they're not prisoners of the past. One bad harvest is not enough to tell a farmland that it is infertile. It gives itself time and come up with a bumper harvest in the future. Allow the possibilities of the future to trump over the failures of the past.

Nursing the wounds of the past won't bring any healing to your future. Been blinded by the past will only make you fail. When even a snake sheds its skin, it never goes back to wear it again. Why are you trying to dress your new day with the ruins of yesterday?

The past is meant to be studied for its lessons but not to define your future. "The past is in your head, but the future is in your hands". After taking a glance at his past, the apostle Paul said; "I forget what is behind, and I struggle for what is ahead" (Philippians 3:13). God’s promise for you is clear, "For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you and expected end" (Jeremiah 29:11). Give up on your past and take up your future. God loves you!
