HOPE ON THE PROMISES

There are lots of bad things that do happen in our lives from time to time. These include negative situations such as financial problems, family problems, relationships problems and health problems. As a result of the increasing nature of these negative situations, many people are losing hope in life.

Certainly, each one of us is likely to lose hope in life if we forget the rich promises that God offers us in His Word. In this article, I want us to consider some of the wonderful scriptural promises that can help us to move forward with hope in this fallen world. Captured below are some few of the numerous promises of Scripture:

1) When you feel guilty of your past sins, remember the following promise: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). It is important for us to remember that when we confess and forsake our sins, the Lord is ready to forgive us. It does not matter what you have done in the past, you can claim this promise of forgiveness today.

2) When you doubt that God will answer your prayers, remember the following promise: "If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it" (John 14:14). Have the assurance that God hears and will answer your prayers according to good will for you.

3) When you do not know when the next meal will come from, remember the following promise: "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). Our God owns everything and He can provide all of our needs. Let us trust Him and believe His promise that He will provide for us.

4) If you are worried about your health, remember the following promise: "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth" (3 John 2). Our Christ is still the Mighty Healer. The one who cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and raised the lame is still alive today. Come unto Him in faith today, and He will gladly help you.

5) If you feel that this world has disappointed you, remember the following promise: 1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also" (John 14:1-3). In this city that Christ is preparing for us; God shall wipe away all tears from our eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying; neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things will be no more (Revelation 21:4). I am excited when I think about this home that God is preparing for us. What about you?

6) The best promise that I have read from Scripture is found in John 3:16. The text says: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life". Everlasting life! Yes! That’s the promise, if we will only believe in Jesus. I encourage you to give your heart to Jesus today so you will have everlasting life and many more in the rich world that God has prepared for those who love Him.

The promises I have given you in this article are but only a few of the numerous precious promises that are found in the pages of Scripture. Keep opening the pages of the Bible and you will find more to keep you hopeful in every situation. Begin to hope on the promises of God today!
