Every second - 28,258 internet users are viewing pornography. Every second - 372 internet users are typing adult search terms into search engines. Every second - $3075.64 is being spent on pornography.

Beloved, in as much as the statistics above is absurd, that's the truth. The devil is fast chaining millions across the globe to the sin of pornography and masturbation. Just some few years ago, it was difficult to access and view the pornography that is permeating rapidly in our society today. The advent of the smartphone has made it very easy for millions to commit these sins privately. For a lot of youth and young adults today, the watching of pornography and the base practice of masturbation have become secret sins that Paul refers to as "the sin that so easily entangles us" (Hebrews 12:1).

My dear friend, I want you to solemnly search your heart through these soul - searching questions:

• Do you watch pornography in any form?
• Is it possible that you are also captured in the statistics on pornography above?
• Do you have nude pictures or sex videos on your phone and other gadgets?
• Do you lust after the opposite sex?
• Do you masturbate?
• Are you in any kind of illicit sexual relationship? In other words, are you having sex while you are not yet married?
• Are you evening or sleeping under the same roof with someone who you intend to marry later? In other words, are you cohabiting?

Beloved, if you answered yes to any of the above questions, then it means that you are either fornicating or committing adultery. These categories of questions elicit answers to secret sins that most pastors will not preach about today. But the truth is if you are engaged in any one of these sins above, such a sin has the potential of taking your name out of the book of life in heaven (Galatians 5:19, 1 Corinthians 6:9). You might nicely describe an amorous relationship as dating or courtship but the Bible's term for it is still fornication. And the Bible is clear that fornicators will not make it into the kingdom of heaven (Galatians 5:19, 1 Corinthians 6:9).

Friends, the Bible does not condemn only explicit fornication but also lust, pornography and masturbation. With regards to these sins, we read from Matthew 5:27-28 the following: "Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." My dear friend, you cannot have a genuine relationship with God if you are engaged in any of the sins described above. To enjoy the sweet fellowship of the Holy Spirit, you must repent from these sins. Amorous relationships must be broken. You must destroy materials such as DVD's and CD's that contain pornography of any form. You must delete all such materials from your PC's, laptops, pen drives, iPod’s and smartphones. You must desist from the base habit of masturbation which is often the result of viewing pornographic content materials.

You must recognize that serving God is a serious business. You cannot serve God and the mammon of lust at the same time. In fact, in Romans 13:14, Paul admonishes us: "But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof." In Psalm 101:3, the psalmist declares: "I will set no base thing before my eyes..."

Beloved, the good news is that if you are entangled in any of these sins, Jesus can forgive you and set you free from these addictions if you turn to Him with genuine confession and repentance. You must come to Him just as you are and He will give you the power to overcome any of these sins. The Bible declares in John 8:36 the following: "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." Beloved, why don't you open the door of your heart to Jesus; He will forgive and cleanse you from these spiritual cancers.
